About the workshop

In this workshop, we will explore the fundamental principles of Japanese bondage in the style of Kinbaku LuXuria. We will learn practical techniques for efficiently and sensually immobilizing a partner for enjoyable play, with a focus on the themes of consent and safety.

We will start with basic ties such as the double column tie and progressively incorporate all the elements necessary to create our session. We will cover tying arms, legs, and the body using fundamentals like counter-tension, wraps, frictions, and knots. These elements will be the building blocks for more complex bondage in subsequent courses.

We will assemble these simple elements to create secure yet highly restrictive bondage, delving into the fundamental aspects of seme-nawa (torment rope). In the true Japanese spirit, traditional style bondage is very essential and straightforward: the principles to be learned and assimilated are few, simple, and immediate, allowing for varied combinations to give each session a fresh feel.

At the end of the workshop, students will be treated to a demonstration of a real Kinbaku session, providing immediate reinforcement of what was covered during the course.

This hands-on workshop, Kinbaku Essentia, is the foundational class in the educational system of Kinkyphilia, providing all the necessary tools to advance to the #1 class - From Gote to First Suspensions.

Who is it for?

This workshop is open and recommended for everyone of legal age, whether you've never handled a rope before or are already a practitioner. It offers valuable tools and insights to enhance your bondage experience. It is highly recommended for those coming from other styles but wanting to continue their studies in the Kinbaku LuXuria style. Good manners, passion, and a willingness to learn are the only requirements for this workshop.

Structure

The workshop spans approximately 6 hours per day for two days, with breaks in between. Changing facilities are available on-site, and it is advisable to arrive at least half an hour early. Participants will receive an email with exact starting times closer to date.

I want to participate. What do I need to know?

  • Ropes: You will need at least 4 ropes made of NATURAL FIBER, such as jute or hemp, with a length of 7-8m and a diameter of 5 or 6mm. The use of cotton, linen, or other non-jute/hemp fibers is strongly discouraged. The use of synthetic ropes of any kind is not allowed.

  • Attire: Comfortable/sporty attire is recommended. Particularly for those being tied, loose or bulky clothing is discouraged.

  • Photo/Video: Taking photos during exercise demos is allowed, but recording videos or audio is not permitted. Taking photos of your partner during exercises is allowed, respecting the privacy of other participants.

  • Partner Alternation: Partners cannot alternate/switch during the workshop.

Style

The workshop follows the Kinbaku LuXuria style of Riccardo Sergnese (Wildties), the ichi-ban deshii of Naka Akira. This style directly descends from Naka-Ryu (Akira Naka's style) and is a careful reengineering, preserving the original and traditional spirit while introducing technical innovations suitable for European culture and physique, with a strong emphasis on safety.

Tickets

This workshop is open to all couples, regardless of whether or not you have attended any of our previous events. Please ensure that you have carefully read all of the workshop information above before purchasing a ticket. Practical information about the workshop will be sent by email closer to date, so please keep an eye on your inbox & spam folder (we recommend adding our email hello@knothere.nl to your email contacts).
